10 German cities to host Iran movie

‘Under the Smoky Roof’, directed by Pouran Derakhshandeh, has been scheduled to go on screen in 10 German cities on September 1-2, 2017.

Frankfurt, Bonn, Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Koblenz, Darmstadt, Guben, Karlsruhe, Viernheim, are 10 German cities which screen Pouran Derakhshandeh’s latest movie ‘Under the Smoky Roof’.

Europe Filmiran is the body responsible for vying the movie in Germany. Kinepolis chain cinema will screen the movie in the 10 German cities.

Farhad Aslani, Merila Zarei, Behnoush Tabatabaee, Nafiseh Roshan, Hesam Navab Safavi and Shahram Haghighatdoust star in the latest production of Iran’s renowned female director.

‘Under the Smoky Roof’ is based on the social and emotional dilemma of divorce in Iranian culture.

The movie narrates the story of Shirin who faces challenges in her relationship with her family and tries to mend the relations.

The film was screened at the 35th Fajr Film Festival and nominated at six different sections for the Crystal Simorgh award.
